Just Cavalli Resort 2013

Just Cavalli's Resort 2013 is apparently inspired by Roberto Cavalli's recent trip to India. Ummm unless he was staying in the jungle the whole time, I'm not sure I see it. But then again, we aren't one to limit fashion's creativity or judge one's inspiration. What the Collection does show is a move back to Hip-Hop culture. Looks like 2013 will bring it full circle with 2Pac's hologram on tour and Acne's dollar bill suits lol.. should be a great year for being an mature Hip-Hop fan! ;)

I absolutely love this editorial from Marie Claire India in their June 2012 issue. It's refreshingly fashion-forward, beautifully shot and captures the nomadic-inspired, boho-chic trend really well.

It's nice to see Lakshmi smiling for a change! She looks fabulous. Rumors have it she's going into films. I hope so; I would love to see her on the big screen.

Resort 2013: Paisley Power

Paisley Power isn't just for Spring 2012. Apparently, the rulers of the fashion world - infatuated with paisleys, tribal palettes, geometric shapes and the nomadic lifestyle - want us to stick with it. Here we have Prabal Gurung, who found inspiration in the trash-lined streets of India's cities, playing with prints and shapes again. Geometric shapes seem to be his thing and while I can't say I love it - yet - Prabal is ahead of the time so I trust him. It definitely works for those wanting the appearance of curves. My style is "edgy-feminista" so I adore Givenchy, and their Resort Collection is no exception. They added the right amount of boho-chic (unlike Marc Jacobs who seems to be forgetting the chic these days) with sarouel pants and... well, ofcourse the paisleys.
