While Karl's campaign ads were for the western market (the poses - I admit - were a little too desi even for my liking), here's something a little more natural. Harper's Bazaar Arabia used Chanel's Pre-Fall collection for this shoot in July/August 2012. Love!

Ashlene's Picks: Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 'Paris-Bombay'
As a fan and follower of Indian designers, it's hard to imagine any western brand being able to match the standard of Indian fashion coming out of the motherland at the moment. However, using the Raj period as an inspiration, Karl Lagerfeld has definitely created an elegant, well-structured and quality Collection that compliments the classic brand - Chanel tweed, dangling pearls, and the trademark black/white color pallette are all still very visible.

"Paris-Bombay" Chanel Metiers d'Arts Collection - Part 2
Hours ago, the fashion community saw one of it's iconic brands dedicate it's new collection to India. Karl Lagerfeld, the man with the vision and talent to bring Chanel into the 21st Century, took it back into time to create a royal feast that included Indian sweets and masala chai. Lagerfeld is known for his elaborate productions and this show was no different. The show also features a large number of South Asian fashion models.
Karl Lagerfeld has used India as an inspiration in his past collections. And, in fact, we saw a similar turban in his Chanel Resort 2012 Collection (Left).

"Paris-Bombay" Chanel Metiers d'Arts Collection!
My godfather Karl Lagerfeld took it from Paris to Bombay for Chanel's Pre-Fall Collection. I AM DYING RIGHT NOW. Enough said. More picks to come.
