Chanel Bombay Express Pre-Fall Ads

Ohhhhh so exciting! I opened up my Vogue this morning and this was on the first page. Love the black and white- it's classic Chanel. This is the Bombay Pre-fall 2012 collection that we haven't stopped gushing about. My only wish would have been to see an Indian model in at least one of the ads. That would have made me reach my asthma spray lol. Can't wait to head to the store and see it in person!

BBA 2012 picks: McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 & more

O...McQueen...G. Here are more picks from Pre-Fall collections. McQueen took my breath away so I couldn’t really focus after that lol but I did find some good looks in Pucci and Dior. Dior feels a little older and I could really see 40+ women loving it. The Pucci would look great on a Sonam Kapoor or Freida. But... McQueen is fit for a Queen.

BBA 2012 Picks: Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall

Prabal Gurung revealed his Pre-Fall 2012 today and turns out our favorite New York designer was inspired by the motherland. According to Style.com: Gurung's starting point this season was India—not the "obvious India" that designers tend to think of, but "the muddy India, the ruins," he said, speaking from experience. "It can be harsh, really, but it's still beautiful." Accordingly, the glitz factor was near zero. He relied on a kaleidoscope print for his dresses and separates rather than the glitzy embroideries he's sometimes been known for. The palette was just as focused; in addition to black and white, he zeroed in on emerald green and a subtle, earthy pink.  I have to say, I'm loving this collection! It's a unique perspective and beautifully executed.

Ashlene's Picks: Chanel Pre-Fall 2012 'Paris-Bombay'

As a fan and follower of Indian designers, it's hard to imagine any western brand being able to match the standard of Indian fashion coming out of the motherland at the moment. However, using the Raj period as an inspiration, Karl Lagerfeld has definitely created an elegant, well-structured and quality Collection that compliments the classic brand - Chanel tweed, dangling pearls, and the trademark black/white color pallette are all still very visible.

Rachel Roy Pre-Fall 2012!

We usually do a lot on the boys of NYC, (BBA darlings) Prabal and Bibhu, but we're extremely excited to cover Rachel Roy. Just revealed is her new Pre-Fall 2012 collection and we're loving the color palette! Her use of color and shapes appears to be very curve flattering. Yay for female fashion designers!
